Natures Garden Therapies – Handmade products from Mother Earth

natural organic skin careIt is said, “Necessity is the mother of invention” and Candace Hall’s journey is a perfect example of that.  Despite her best efforts, Candace‘s baby broke out with rashes whenever a baby product was applied. Faced with her child’s continued discomfort, Candace became resourceful. Through a creative effort, she remedied the problem by creating her own line of natural bath and beauty products called, Natures Garden Therapies.
The skin is the largest organ of the body and for many of us we are not fully aware that what we put on our skin enters our body.  Candace’s rule of thumb is, “You never want to put anything on your body that you wouldn’t eat.”
Through her research, Candace discovered that some of the higher end brands included “natural” ingredients along with questionable ingredients.  The inclusion of these toxic ingredients is a result of companies seeking to improve their bottom line by using cheaper oils and synthetic materials to lengthen the shelf life. Candace points out that most people, after recognizing several natural ingredients in a product, will assume it is safe to buy.  However, it only takes just one synthetic ingredient to cause an allergic reaction.
Natures Garden Therapies are inspired by nature and use only the highest quality organic ingredients for “pure, luxurious living.” Their catalog contains many choices of products using oils, butters, and plants found in nature and formulated to naturally cleanse, heal and sooth your skin.
Three of the products I was able to sample were the hand rolled Beeswax Candles, Lavender Sugar Scrub, and the Lavender Face Wash.
The hand rolled beeswax candles are beautiful.  They come from local farmers in Minnesota. The candles are made with natural cotton wicks and, of course, no fragrance is added. These candles are one of a kind; you need to allow 3 days for them to be made uniquely for you. They come in a natural material box, adorned with subtle images of bees.  It makes a very special gift.
I was very pleasantly surprised by the Lavender Sugar Scrub.  It is a beautiful, natural scrub with bits of dried lavender and granules of sugar. It contains four healing and emollient oils; apricot kernel oil, grape seed oil, lavender essential oil and coconut oil. The organic cane sugar gently exfoliates and can be used on your whole body including your face.  The effects were very noticeable; my skin was dramatically smoother and softer for days.
The organic face wash is designed to cleanse, fight off bacteria, tighten pores and soothe your skin.  It is very effective at cleaning and removing make-up. The ingredients include activated charcoal, which is used to absorb toxins, unclog pores, and remove impurities and dead skin cells. It contains five oils which leave you skin feeling very clean, yet very smooth.
There are many more products in the Natural Garden Therapies line from body lotions to aromatherapy sprays and teas.  Of course. there is a whole line of skin care products for your baby. I highly recommend exploring their site and trying out the numerous products they offer.  Candace’s passion is reflected in her commitment to using only high-quality, pure, healing ingredients.
And, most importantly, Candace’s baby is now rash free!

Introducing our 100% Beeswax Candles

Our Beeswax is 100% natural and comes from local farmers right here in Minnesota. We do NOT add fragrance(beeswax has a lovely natural sweet scent) and we only use natural cotton wicks so you can enjoy all the wonderful health benefits and a longer burn time.
Please allow 3 days for us to make your precious, unique, one of a kind candle. All Candles come in a gorgeous, primitive, bee adorned gift box, great for gift giving.
Beeswax is very different: all natural, non-toxic, non-polluting, non-allergenic, and with a delicious honey-sweet aroma. A perfect, renewable resource, beeswax is made by the female worker bee for honeycomb, which safely contains their honey and the Queen’s baby bees. To produce one pound of beeswax, the worker bees eat about ten pounds of honey (yum), fly 150,000 miles, and visit 33 million flower blossoms! Beeswax is precious stuff.
Health Benefits of Beeswax Candles Beeswax produces negative ions that actually clean your air of odors, pollens, smoke, dust, dust mites, viruses and other allergens and hazards – the only known fuel to do so. As does a rainstorm, beeswax candles leave your air fresher and cleaner - they are a true air purifier. They are the only candle for anyone with chemical sensitivities or allergies. Increasing negative ions in the air and on the body, such as when one bathes in water, improves mood and sense of wellbeing. With increased negative ions, studies show:
Improved air quality-Improved sleep -Enhanced immune system-Relief from hay fever & allergies-Less severe asthma attacks-Improved concentration
Balancing of hormones-Natural detoxification--Sense of wellbeing
Beeswax is good value. It achieves a very efficient and complete burn (mostly to carbon dioxide (CO2) and water vapor) and thus burns brighter, hotter, cleaner, and longer than any other wax. When properly made and burned, beeswax candles are smokeless and dripless. Measured by burn time, beeswax candles are usually a better value than boutique paraffin – even when they appear to cost more. But beware: because of lax labeling laws and consistent lobbying by chemical candle makers, a candle may be labeled "beeswax" if it contains as little as 10% beeswax - the balance is probably paraffin. Also be suspicious of labels simply stating "natural". If the label doesn’t say "100% beeswax" or "pure beeswax", it almost certainly is not.
